Chicka what!?!?

I'd just like to take this moment to declare my love. I never thought I could be in love like this. This isn't superficial love. This is not an infatuation. This is agape love at its finest. I am in love with an enchilada. It's Chuy's very own Chicka Chicka Boom Boom enchiladas. I know they don't look like much, but they are filled with delicious roasted pulled chicken and melted cheese. However, the magic lies on top. Boom Boom sauce. Oh dear sweet baby Jesus the Boom Boom sauce. I imagine in heaven, everything you eat is covered in Boom Boom sauce. I don't know what's in it, but I want to bathe in it. If you haven't lost your appetite with that image, go eat one at Chuy's. Click here for location info.

Is That a Spark in Your Pocket?

One of my favorite things for today. This treasure by Houston's Pocket and Spark. It easy to see why this ring is from their "Rock" series, as it resembles a treasure you wished to find while digging in your back yard as a kid. This crater rock ring is cast in sterling and set with emeralds, but if you'd prefer a different gemstone, they'll make it for you. Ooh the possibilities...

Hello Lucky: Support your local artists!

My newest obsession (well...if two years constitutes new) has been cozy printed t-shirts. I'm a casual girl, and they allow me to live in a casual world without looking like a fashion victim. This is why I can't wait to go explore the artist designed collections at Hello Lucky.

They have designs for ladies, gentlemen, kids,
and even baby onesies. They have this simple, yet sooo precious birdie onsie that I definitely want to buy. I just need to rent a child to put it on.

As you can see by the photo above, they don't stop at clothing. They have funky fresh jewelry for guys and gals, yummy gifts of candles, soaps, vanilla sugar, local honey, hot sauces, and gift cards.
If you shop at Hello Lucky during September or October, a portion of your purchase will be donated to Glasstire, a fantabulous non-profit that encourages awareness of Texas visual art. So what are you waiting for? Go out there and support our Houston artists!!

Dallas Shaw: She Holds the Key

So she's not a Houstonian, but because she is my favorite artist of all time, I render her blogworthy. Her name is Dallas Shaw, and I have so much of her work, my house looks like a Dallas shrine (seriously, if she gets mysteriously kidnapped...they're coming for me). Dallas just came out with a new vintage line that is one of the fresher ideas I've seen in a while. It is a series of vintage key paintings on vibrant Given Campbell wallpaper. The works are based on actual keys, and with each painting, the buyer receives the original key in a coordinating frame. Ready to open up some new doors? (get it?...keys...man I'm clever) Check out all of her collections at the sites below.

Things I Love: Cuckoo for Cuckoo Clocks

Just because this is so a la mode, so punchy, so girly in all the right ways, and flat as a pancake. Oh yeah, and so freakin cheap. It made my trip to Target today, just a little bit brighter.

Rebecca & Drew: Mind the Gape

The classic button down shirt. One of the most common staples for any professional woman. So why is it so difficult to find one that fits? Button holes that gape open for the world to see, pulling across the back...ugg. How can you look professional when everyone around you is getting a peep show of your goodies?

After women have faced this problem for centuries, New York based
Rebecca & Drew, found a solution. They invented the TrioFit system, based on the measurements of a woman's chest circumference, bra cup size, and torso height. Thus giving you a pretty-close-to-custom fit. Lucky for us Houstonians, a new Rebecca & Drew just opened up right in our own back yard.

At this new River Oaks location, Rebecca & Drew carries a fine line of cardigans, pants, skirts, and other accessories. The pieces have a sharp yet feminine vibe. Very country club sporty, meets tea time with the ladies. As an added bonus, they are also offering the versatile jewelry of Houston designer Elissa Laviage. To make an appointment call 713.826.9031, and let them spoil you with champagne and wine as you browse.
