My only vice

How fun are these "vice" canisters from Jonathan Adler? There are tons of fun vices available, or perhaps you'd like to suggest a new one? I think I'd have to go with caffeine, or perhaps he could make a new "aspartame" canister:) What is your only vice?

Donations for Doxies

The holidays are finally in our rear view, Christmas trees are down (hopefully), and it's time to get ready for spring! So why not get a jump on that spring cleaning? Where to start? How about deculttering your doggie drawer, and donating the excess to needy puppies?

Très Chic has teamed up with the Dachshund Rescue of Houston, for a full out “Doxie Drive”. We are currently collecting donation items such as dog food, blankets, leashes, crates, collars, etc. to go directly to the Dachshund Rescue.

As an extra bonus, if you schedule a decorating, organizing, or style consultation during the month of January, Très Chic will donate 10% of the proceeds to the Dachshund Rescue of Houston. That’s a lot of dachshund squeaky toys!

For a full list of needed puppy supplies you can visit the DROH website(dachshundrescueofhouston.org), or to arrange a pick up, please send requests to mailto:info@tcdhouston.com

Fab Organizing FInd

Saw these while I was out shopping last week, and loved how functional and adorable they are. The beaks are magnetized to hold your keys, (even strong enough to hold my monstrous set), and have a small slit to hold an envelope or note. Even better, the set is only $13.

Monica's Picks for Spring

Got a little something special for everyone today! Local artist, fashion illustrator, stylist, and bloggess of Classy and Fabulous, Monica Guerrero-Abney shares with us her top trends for spring....

Last spring designers were inspired by the exotic and colorful designs from tribes around the world. This time they take us through a colorful journey to the Far East, with Asian inspired designs. Also this season we can experience two extremes, with colorful bold designs, or the simplicity of plain white. A trend that is staying from fall 2010 but with more spring touches, are 70s inspired designs.

Favorites from Spring 2011

Bold Colors-Gucci

Wedges- Lanvin

Draping- Bottega Veneta

70’s- Marc Jacobs

Plain White- Calvin Klein

Mixing exotic patters – Louis Vuitton

Big hats- Carolina Herrera

Roi James at Laura Rathe Fine Art

Have you visited Laura Rathe Fine Art yet? They are a full service gallery that represents emerging and established artists in oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, sculpture, glass and fine art prints. The gallery is a large, gorgeous contemporary building off of Colquitt St, that I would sacrifice my right arm to live in. Head over there January 15th to see for yourself:)

Stevia Cane

Let me guess, your New Years resolution is to lose weight, eat healthier, exercise more...blah blah blah. Yeah, me too. One of my resolutions this year, is to seriously cut back on artificial sweeteners. There's just no telling what damage has already been done from the years of aspartame coursing through my veins. So the challenge then becomes (with my ridiculous sweet tooth), how do I do this while still fitting into my skinny jeans? Luckily, there are sneaky little products like Steviacane that can help us out along the way. It has a few calories (1/3 the amount of normal sugar), but it tastes exactly like regular sugar. I was given a sample of this stuff before the holidays, and I immediately ran out to HEB for some more. If you'd like to give it a taste, you can get a free sample from their Facebook page. Have any of you guys tried Steviacane? If so, what do you think?
