Wellies. Just the name of them make me feel like jumping into a gigantic rain puddle. I think (fingers crossed) that this Houston drought is finally coming to an end, so there's never been a better time to purchase a little something cute for the wet winter months.

From his transporter: Cute, cute, cute. By the time we turned him over (from the shelter to the vet) we had a tail wag and a behind wiggle. Easy to handle, car crates like a dream. Did not like the leash, but was learning it's purpose by the time we dropped him off. These photos do not show off his gorgeous color -- he is stunning in person -- his eyes match his coat. He's a bitty baby -- and darling.

The early bird catches the worm. If you see a puppy that would be a good fit for you home, be sure to get your application in asap, as they are on a first come first serve basis. Not ready to adopt? The Dachshund Rescue of Houston always needs fosters:)

Tootsies hosts Cameron Silver, the owner and expert behind the Melrose Avenue vintage salon Decades. Founded in 1997, Decades has redefined the vintage market selling to customers that include Hollywood stars and Saudi Arabian royalty. Silver recently collaborated with the Miriam Haskell design team to create the Uptown/Downtown collection, which hit stores early October 2011. The collection, meant to capture the design creativity of the late, well-renowned jewelry designer Miriam Haskell, combines every aspect of the modern woman by merging a contemporary edge with classic styles. The collection has two groups: Uptown, which uses a gold color-way and Downtown, which is gunmetal. All the pieces are identifiable as Haskell, just in a new, fresh way. Silver will be at Tootsies to present this new collaboration in addition to a selection of fabulous, unique vintage designer dresses and gowns from Decades including Gres, Jacques Fath, Balmain, Galanos, YSL, Chanel and Pierre Cardin.
