River Oaks Fashion Show 2011

On Feb. 23, more than 450 Houston fashionistas worked the red carpet at the second annual River Oaks Shopping Center Fashion Show! All ticket sales were donated to the American Heart Association, and when all was said and done, $13,000 was raised for the cause. Fashions from all of the finest River Oaks boutiques graced the runway, and of course my chic friends, we have to show you our favorites!

Houston’s chicest ladies and gents will take to the red carpet for a showcase of spring’s hottest looks at the second annual River Oaks Shopping Center Fashion Show. Weingarten Realty Investors is underwriting the event, which allows all ticket sales to directly benefit the American Heart Association. First, attend the pre-show cocktail party in the lobby of River Oaks Theater at 6:30 p.m. with bites from La Griglia and signature drinks from Makers Mark. Then the runway show will launch at 7 p.m., with the latest trends from 310 Rosemont, Ann Taylor, Chicos, Em & Lee, Enticingly Chic, Haut Chocolat, La Mode Swim, LMD Boutique, Mia Bridal Couture, Rebecca & Drew, Twice New and more!

So whats the deal with the boutique after-parties? At the post-show soirees, attendees will shop ‘til they drop, while sipping on cocktails, indulging in hors d’oeuvres from River Oaks’ best restaurants and consulting with local beauty and style experts.

Life + Dog Launch

Last Friday night, was a very special evening. It was the launch of a brand new Houston lifestyle mag, that caters to the canine lovers amongst us. Life + Dog. The event was the perfect mix of class, sophistication and quirky puppy fun. The classiness took its form as the sleek venue of Momentum Porsche, while the sophistication could be found in the glamorous party goers (a who's who of the animal loving big hearts of Houston). Then comes the fun. Amazing catering by Fusion Taco, an open bar of delicious spirits, and spattering of swag by Natural Paws for all of us to take home to our furry babies:) More details on the swag in a bit, but until then, here are a few fun photos from the evening...

I don't like to play favorites, especially when it comes to my Houston Zoo. However, as some of you already know, I have quite the attachment to the Maned Wolves (a.k.a. Stinky Foxes). They had me the first time I smelled their wonderfully skunky aroma. Now, there are two precious stinky babies, Dora and Diego. I want to kiss them straight on the lips.
