The Galleria will host a model search this, Saturday, March 31 at 12 p.m. Houston-area men and women over the age of 18 are invited to strut their stuff for the chance to model during Simon Fashion Now® presented by Cadillac taking place at The Galleria April 12-14. The judges will select two local winners, one male and one female, to receive the ultimate Model for a Day package including:

· Opportunity to walk in a Simon Fashion Now® Runway Fashion Show·

Scholarship to Page Parkes Modeling Camp

The winner will model Friday, April 13 during a Simon Fashion Now® runway fashion show at 6:30 p.m.

*Registration begins Saturday, March 31 at 12 p.m.

-Contestants take the catwalk at 2 p.m. Registration will close at 2 p.m. or after the first 100 contestants in line, whichever comes first.

Heroes for Handbags March 29

Heroes for Children, a Texas-based non-profit, will host its seventh annual Heroes & Handbags Auction and Brunch This Thursday, March 29th from 10-1 p.m.. They will be featuring vintage and designer handbags donated by Houston area designers and HFC supporters, including local fave Elaine Turner. Come join the “who’s who” of Houston society for a morning of shopping for a cause.

NM Fundraiser for The Children's Assessment Center

Spring has officially sprung in Houston! To celebrate the resurgence of all things linen, pastel, and seersucker, join Neiman Marcus us for the 13th annual ‘Spirit of Spring: Beautiful Journeys’ event benefitting The Children's Assessment Center. With a reception and fashion show hosted by Ken Downing of Neiman Marcus and guest-speaker Ashley Judd, Houston’s best dressed can show off their chicest spring attire, all for a good cause.

As one of The CAC’s largest fundraisers of the year, the event will feature a reception beginning at 11:00 a.m., April 4th followed by a seated luncheon and fashion show at 12:00 p.m. by Neiman Marcus-Galleria.

Ken Downing, Senior Vice President and Fashion Director for Neiman Marcus, will showcase his spring forecast of fashions.

Pink is Here to Stay

So you've probably seen mandarin orange splashed across the runways this season, but have you noticed that year after year pink is able to hold its own, and never falls out of style?

Don't get me wrong, we are completely mad for mandarin this Spring 2012, we just happen to have an extra special sweet spot for pinks here at Houston's Weekly Chic:) If you take a good a look around, you'll find that pink can be found this season in the likes of Marc Jacobs, Preen, Michael Kors, Oscar de le Renta, Jimmy Choo, Dana Rebecca, and Isabel Marant.
