Kate Spade Saturday Now Open!

It's official!  Kate Spade's younger, funkier, more accessible (read: kinder on the pocketbook) sister store Kate Spade SATURDAY, is now open in Rice Village.  Never heard of it?  That's because Houston was lucky enough to land their THIRD (ever) location.  Focused on fashion-foward millennial gals, SATURDAY offers clothing, handbags, shoes, and even housewares at half the price of Kate Spade New York, and with a much looser, laid back style.

I got a sneak peek of the store Friday just before opening, and was lucky enough to chat with Senior VP and Brand Director Kyle Andrew.  So the question of the day...

How did Houston get so lucky??

"Houston is a market that embraces Kate Spade.  We don't want to be an exclusively east coast/west coast brand.  We want to branch out to the rest of the country as well."

You can't help but feel happy vibes when you enter the bright and sunny boutique, which is why it makes total sense that the premise behind the SATURDAY brand is that everyday feels like an easy breezy Saturday afternoon, strolling around Rice Village window shopping.

"Every time you walk in the store, or put on a piece from the collection, we want you to get that same relaxing, care free Saturday feeling. Everyday feels like Saturday," explained Andrew.

To embrace that happy-chic Saturday feeling, KS SATURDAY often serves up ice cream and drinks on Saturday afternoon, and has even been known to have a DJ spinning tunes. Because it's never too early in the day to break it down.  I came out of KSS with a very long wish-list, but I narrowed down a bit, and here are my top picks for Fall....
