Eddie V’s Speakeasy Happy Hour Series Celebrates America’s Jazz Age 

If you gravitate toward the glitz and glam of the roaring 20's with smooth jazz and delicious craft cocktails (laughing in the face of prohibition), you'll want to be seen at Eddie V's Speakeasy Happy Hour Series
that launches Wednesday, January 15th (the 94th anniversary of prohibition) and goes through Sunday, February 9th, at both the West Ave and CityCentre  locations.

The 3 week event celebrates America’s iconic Jazz Age and benefits local non-profit organization, Jazz Education, Inc, an organization dedicated to providing worthwhile music education and enrichment activities for Houston’s next generation of stars.

In addition to offering 4 classic speacialty 1920s cocktails and live jazz music, the Speakeasy Happy Hour series also will feature a “secret” fashionable component, in partnership with Eddie V’s neighboring retailers, Tootsies (West Ave.), and Elaine Turner (CityCentre), as well as Hotel Sorella (CityCentre). In keeping with speakeasy protocol, V Lounge guests who know the secret password can submit their name for a weekly chance to win gift cards to Eddie V’s, Tootsies, Elaine Turner and Hotel Sorella.

So what's the secret password?  Well, if I told you it wouldn't be a secret now would it:) Check back this week, as it may eventually be revealed.

Heroes and Handbags March 28th

Squeee!!!  It's that time of year again my friends.  Hands down one of the sweetest and swankiest charity events in Houston, Heroes for Handbags combines Heroes for Children (seriously one of the BEST charities around), with one of my other passsions: handbags.

If you aren't familiar with the organization, Heroes for Children is a nonprofit supporting families affected by childhood cancer. This Thursday, March 28th will be their 8th annual Heroes and Handbags brunch and auction from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the River Oaks Country Club.  The drop dead gorgeous silent auction showcases smashing designer handbags donated by Houston-area socialites, retailers, and designers.

Elaine Turner proudly hosts nationally renowned jewelry designer Rebecca Hallam for a personal appearance and trunk show benefitting Houston’s Ronald McDonald House. At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to give back with 20 percent of sales going to Ronald McDonald House in honor of Susie Carpenter, a Houston mother who lost her two year old daughter to a rare heart disease in April 2012 after losing her four year old son to the same disorder in March 2011.
